Now you say “Howdy” back. If you’re from Aggieland, are an Aggie, or know an Aggie, you know what I’m talking about (and maybe you even said “Howdy” back to your computer. If that’s the case *HIGH FIVE*).

If not, sorry for the confusion. You may now return to you previously scheduled program.

About the Anti-Boredom Project

I started this blog shortly after getting married. I was bored. We live in a small(ish) college town and couldn’t find anything to do, other than go to a bar (and nobody likes a lush). Wedding planning had taken up 135 percent of my time for the previous 14 months and as such had become my hobby (albeit not the most enjoyable one). With no wedding planning to do, I had no hobby to fill my time and I started to get cranky. My husband (the web developer, who doesn’t like cranky Sam) suggested I start blogging.

And so the Anti-Boredom Project was born. The blog itself is a combination of cooking, traveling, pictures and stories about life as a newlywed. Originally, my blog started out as a way for me to hone my culinary skills, and has definitely served that purpose. Since starting it, however, I have completely changed my diet and general outlook on food in general. I eat a paleo diet about 90% of the time. I also CrossFit. I talk about both of those things a lot.

About Sam

I’m Sam Atchison. I’m a wife (to @jaredatch), dog-mom [to Shiner (AKA Shiney, AKA Brown Dog, etc.) and Tucker (AKA short man, monster, wienie, etc.)], and a writer at my day job. I love good friends, good food, good wine and good music. I also like to travel and take pictures. And I have a weird thing for zombies.

Jared and me at the Texas Ren Fest.

Jared and I both graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2008. We unintentionally and officially have become local yokels in good ole’ College Station.

We got married on June 18, 2011. Here’s our story…
